GALLERY: MultiChoice shows support to community

KENNINGSTON B – MultiChoice revamps Randburg Trauma Centre and donates several items.

MultiChoice supported its community by upgrading the Randburg Trauma Centre, inside the Randburg Police Station on 9 October.

Randburg CPF chairperson Hennie Oostuizen said the Trauma Centre asked the community for help and MultiChoice agreed to revamp the centre by putting in new carpets, a new security gate and new cupboards.

He said they also cleaned the centre with cleaning products provided by MultiChoice.

MultiChoice customer experience coach Sifiso Morake explained the one-day-project was done to show their support toward the community.

“We also donated clothes, toys, books, school clothes and toiletries to the centre,”said Morake.

Trauma Centre head Elaine Crossling explained the centre forms part of a network of Victim Support Units across Gauteng.

“The Trauma Centre offers a 24-hour free service to all crime victims in the Randburg area who require information, emotional support or debriefing,” said Crossling.

She explained that the support ranges from assisting victims at the centre or at the scene of the crime.

Crossling said the assistance given to victims are from volunteers and she urged people to get involved.

Randburg Police acting Station Commander Colonel Andries Odendaal said the Trauma Centre is very valuable to the police and to render the required service they are dependent on the community.

“We welcome partnerships such as these and are thankful. Financial assistance like this enables us to provide a professional service to the extent we would like to deliver,” said Col Odendaal.

He thanks MultiChoice for their kind-hardheartedness and also Hennie Oostuizen for continuously facilitating processes such as these.

“I am looking forward to seeing more partnerships getting on board with us like MultiChoice,”concluded Col Odendaal.
