Woman and child (1) critical after crash in Boskruin

BOSKRUIN – Woman and child airlifted to hospital after crashing into tree.

A woman in her 30’s and child, believed to be one-year-old, are in a critical condition  following a collision on the corner of Kelly Avenue and President Fouché Drive in Boskruin, Randburg on 25 September.

When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene, they found a light motor vehicle lying on its side against a tree.

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring said, “On assessment, paramedics found that the mother and her child had sustained severe injuries and were in a critical condition. Paramedics began their treatment as well as provided the two patients with advanced life support interventions.”

Once treated, the child was transported by another service to a nearby hospital for urgent treatment while the mother was airlifted by the ER24 Helicopter to another hospital for urgent treatment.

“It is understood that the mother lost control of the vehicle, causing it to leave the road an collide with a tree. Local authorities were on scene to investigate further,” he added.
