MALANSHOF – Circa Diggers makes it to the Senior Grand Challenge finals.

The Senior Grand Challenge semi-finals was hosted at Circa Diggers Rugby Club on 18 September.

In fast-paced, action-raging games, Circa Diggers based in Malanshof at the Randburg Sports Complex, played against Germiston Simmers and Krugersdorp High Old Sports Association (Khosa).

Circa Diggers Club captain Marc Baker said, “This has been the culmination of months of hard work from everyone involved. The coaching staff, executive committee and, most importantly, the players have given it their all this season.”

The U20’s Circa Diggers versus Simmers game saw some serious skill coming from both teams.

Throughout the game, Circa had possession of the ball winning most conversions.

The final score was a win for Circa Diggers with 32 and Simmers 15.

Both second and third team opponents withdrew before the game – therefore Circa Diggers teams will go straight to the finals.

The first team game was one of shear grit, blood and sweat. Both teams played a hard game.

Khosa did make a few errors in the scrums which benefited the home team.

The final score saw a triumphant win by Circa Diggers with 50 and Khosa losing with 22 points.

Baker added, “We are unbelievably excited for the finals and we will be bring four out of four trophies back to where they belong at Circa Diggers Rugby Club.”
