RANDPARK – Gatsby themed evening gets guests flapping.

The Northcliff Rotary Club’s charity event is in its fourth year and was held at the Randpark Golf Club on 4 September. The purpose of the event was to raise funds for the Rotary International Foundation, the Chayil Foundation and Woodside Sanctuary.

Chayil Foundation, formerly known as Family Dynamic is a non-profitable organisation that provides marriage counseling, trauma counseling, parenting workshops, and other projects to the community. The foundation has partnered with many orphanages, soup kitchens, old age homes and safe houses. It has has partnered with anti-drug campaigns and offers counselling for young people who are victims of drug abuse and child prostitution, and who have been diagnosed with HIV.

The evening’s theme was Roaring ’20s, Gatsby and most of the guests dressed accordingly. Prizes were available for the best dressed. Guests were able to bet on virtual horse races and a photo booth was available to the guests. There was a number of paintings up for auction as well.

Mthethwa added that the charity always needs assistance and anyone who wants to help can contact her directly on gmthethwa@woodside.co.za
