MALANSHOF – Randburg Football Club welcomes their junior girls and women league.

Women and girls took over the football grounds for the junior league at Randburg Football Club (RAFC).

The newly established female league has brought smiles to female soccer enthusiasts’ faces.

Coach Theo Buttress said, “It’s a small start but a great opportunity to showcase the amazing talent I see in these women during every practice.” The league features ages from as young as 11years old to 40 years old.

Practices are on Wednesdays from 6.30pm to 7.30pm at RAFC.

Most matches are hosted on the weekend where the girls often compete against boys’ clubs in the area.

Among the fancy footwork at practices, the players improve on skills by using multiple drills. “Fitness is key, I train the girls hard in order to be able to keep possession on the pitch,” added Buttress.

It is clear on the faces of the girls and women playing in the league that they are true patriots to the game.
