GALLERY: Rand Park High sprints to the top
RANDPARK RIDGE – Rand Park High dominates an inter school athletics meet on their home soil.
The crowd went wild at the Rand Park High School (RPHS) athletics meet on 19 August.
The competition was fierce with RPHS defending their grounds against Curro Waterstone College and Sandringham High School.
Athletes from Grade 8 to Matric ran 200m, 400m, 1 500m and relay races.
The schools’ A and B teams gave their all as they ran different races and showed incredible spirit with every athlete finishing the race.
Rand Park High communications, public relations and marketing officer, Heather Robinson said, “It is great to see all the children competing here. The children were able to interact with pupils from other schools as well as enjoy a fun and competitive athletics meeting.”
First place went to the hosting school Rand Park High School with a total of 227 points.
Curro Waterstone put up a strong front and nearly grabbed the win in coming second with 184.
Sandringham High School fought to the end receiving third place with 63 points.
