Robots champs

SUNDOWNER – Pupils of Curro Aurora smash competition in the robotics challenge.

Curro Aurora took part in the Inter-Curro Robotics Competition on 25 July held at Curro Woodhill in Pretoria.

Nine Curro schools were present with 16 teams in total.

The competition was also run in Natal and Cape Town for other Curro schools.

Miche Nagar, Rahoul Sirkisoon, Amy McNally, Eric Myburgh, Aiden Venter and Ryan Everett represented the school in the competition.

This year, the teams were responsible for developing and memorising an algorithm for their robot prior to the competition.

On the day of the competition, pupils had to write their algorithm, test it and fit the correct sensors to their robot.

Victory came to Aiden Venter and Ryan Everett, who achieved a remarkable score of 200 out of a possible 220 – not only the highest score of the day, but the highest score across all Curro schools countrywide.
