Police need your help

KENSINGTON B – Randburg SAPS need your help to unite an unknown man with his family.

Randburg SAPS needs the assistance of the public to trace the family of an unknown man who has been loitering the streets of Randburg and seeking food in dustbins.

Sergeant Dipuo Maphanga from the Randburg Police Social Crime Prevention Unit explained that the man is usually found in various shopping centres in Randburg, specifically in Kensington B and Bryanston. Apparently the man is violent and does not accept clean food. The police arrested him on 28 July after he went to the police station looking for food in dustbins. This, after he refused to eat the food they gave him.

Sergeant Maphanga said they took him to Helen Joseph Hospital in Rossmore. “The doctor will only confirm if the man is mentally ill or not in 72 hours. In the meantime we need to relocate him with his family,” said Sergeant Maphanga.

She encouraged residents to come forward if they have information about the man’s family.
