Nostaps Children’s Home gets revamped

ZANDSPRUIT – Nostaps is absolutely grateful that their centre has been revamped.

Nomathemba Statutory and Protection Services (Nostaps) Children’s Home and Care Centre is immensely grateful to Zero-One Media and Marketing Company, which assisted them to revamp their home.

Containers which the home uses for a library, kitchen and bedrooms, were repainted on 17 July by Zero-One.

They fitted the windows at the containers, bought a new fridge, replaced all the doors, changed the entire electricity wiring and donated new blankets and duvets.

This was the company’s initiative of giving back to the community, honouring 67 minutes of Nelson Mandela. One of the company’s directors Fana Hlazane insisted it was the company’s passion of regularly giving back to the community.

“We always help needy organisations. I don’t think there is a need to wait for July to assist needy people. We always have to do it,” said Hlazane.

Nostaps is a registered non-governmental organisation (NGO) which was established in 2013 and is a temporary shelter for misplaced and vulnerable children and mainly accommodates many children in Zandspruit.

“We give children a proper meal after school. They come here to do their homework and play with others,” said the centre manager Nomathemba Shava.

The home is currently struggling financially and she appealed to members of the public who would like to assist, to call them.

One of the board members, Karen Bell, said she was impressed with the improved condition of the centre.
