MALANSHOF – Grade 7 pupils enjoy a host of hockey skills at the Rand Park High School holiday programme.

Rand Park High School welcome their soon to be Grade 8s with a round of hockey clinics at the Randburg Sports Complex on 29 June.

Grade 7 girls, who have been accepted to Rand Park High for their Grade 8 year in 2016, enjoyed their first hockey skill workshop for the holiday programme. The girls, some of whom have never played hockey, were introduced to the first team hockey coaches and other pupils. “We believe that it will help them to establish a few early friendships before they officially start attending our high school next year,” said Rand Park High School marketing, public relations and communications officer Heather Robinson.

The girls started off with some rather tricky skill drills, involving the weaving of the ball and how to use a hockey stick correctly. “The clinics will also help to experience what it is like to be a part of Rand Park High School, develop important skills and foster a love for the sports,” added Robinson.
