Cresta holds an emergency drill

CRESTA – Cresta Shopping Centre management announces emergency evacuation drill and urges the public not to panic.

Cresta Shopping Centre held an emergency evacuation drill on 17 June.

According to the centre, “This was an exercise and simulation in emergency readiness. At no time was there a crisis at the centre, and no shoppers, tenants and staff were at risk due to any emergencies.”

Centre’s management added that in accordance with City of Johannesburg regulations, and with the full co-operation of emergency medical services and the SAPS, compulsory drills are required on a regular basis, to determine and evaluate the centre’s readiness to handle an emergency situation.

“This gives the centre, its staff and its tenants an opportunity for a refresher course in emergency readiness. Cresta would like to thank its patrons, both shoppers and tenants, and its staff, for their patience, understanding and ongoing support in this matter.”
