Update: Former Miss SA robbery case postponed

KENSINGTON B – A suspect who is allegedly involved in the robbery of former Miss SA Lorna Potgieter-Rossetti will appear in court on 15 June.

Spokesperson for Honeydew Police, Warrant Officer Karen Jacobs confirmed that a case involving the robbery of former Miss SA Lorna Potgieter-Rossetti has been postponed to 15 June. The 52-year-old 1984-pageant winner Potgieter-Rossetti was robbed by two suspects in Randburg on 6 June.

It is alleged that the two suspects hit her on the head and tried to rip off her ring from her finger. However, the suspects took off with her money, purse and her pair of readings glasses.

WO Jacobs said, “SAPS members were alerted and a suspect was arrested in a taxi. The suspect was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.”

The case is being heard at Randburg Magistrates’ Court, Kensington B.

The suspect appeared on 8 June, when he was told to return to court the following week.
