RANDPARK – The Randpark Resident's Association held a braai to create community togetherness.

The term ‘get to know your neighbour’, has been used several times by resident associations in attempt to create a sense of community togetherness. On 6 June, the Randpark Resident’s Association ( RRA) held a community braai in Arend Park in Randpark. “The purpose of the day was just for residents to come out with their family and enjoy themselves. It was also a great platform for residents to get to know each other better,” explained Chairman of RRA Lyle Pretorius. He further explained the importance of knowing what your neighbour does professionally as this could help residents empower each other in the business sphere.

Stalls were set up on the day displaying the various things that the residents are involved in, like property, insurance, baking, and sewing. Cupcakes and boerewors rolls were plentiful and family, friends and their pets enjoyed the day out.

“It is great to see the younger generation also getting involved and pulling together as a community because if everyone pulls together we can have a better community,” said area leader Claude Nortjé.

Lyn Gove, who had her own stall called ‘Pretty Pink Dress’ set up said, “I am really enjoying the day, it is great seeing family and friends coming together and people making important acquaintances.”
