Dare to Care

LINDEN — For just R100 a month, pledge your support and feed a child.

In support of Child Protection Week Abraham Kriel Childcare have initiated the #Dare2Care campaign in aid of abused, neglected and abandoned or orphaned children.

About 1 116 children in the care of the organisation have been subjected to abuse or were neglected. The organisation is committed to making a real impact in the lives of the children in need, in homes such as its ones in Linden and Fontainebleau.

Social Funding Developer, Adele Kincaid-Smith said they want to make a real impact in the lives of the children in greatest need in our surroundings.

“We aim to raise R4.2 million in the course of one year through the #Dare2Care campaign in order to provide daily meals to all our children. We want to ensure that our future generations coming from these roots will not suffer severe poverty, abuse or abandonment but rather grow up in families that love them and are able to support them.”

The campaign urges 800 people to commit to making a R100 monthly donation for the next six months. On average it works out to R322 to feed one child each month, or a modest R10 per day.

#Dare2Care is a competition too: WIN a kitchen makeover from Easy Life Kitchens worth R100 000 or a R10 000 voucher from Pick n Pay, Samsung products, a Revlon gift pack or a family photo shoot provided by Eunice Driver.
