Fraud and theft: Police appeal for information

MULDERSDRIFT – Police seek community's help in arresting the man who made fraudulent purchases around Gauteng.

Police are appealing to anyone who may know the whereabouts of the suspect, Mpompo Victor Monwabisi [pictured], to come forward.

According to provincial police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini, the suspect is wanted for fraud and a warrant of arrest has been issued for him.

“He is wanted in Sandton, Empangeni, Hillbrow and Muldersdrift for similar crimes,” said Lieutenant Dlamini.

It is alleged that the suspect has fraudulently used the identity documents belonging to other people to purchase personal goods and open accounts at clothing stores in Sandton, Johannesburg and Pretoria. “He has fraudulently purchased clothing at several clothing stores since September 2014 until January 2015. He was arrested and at a later stage released on bail,” added Lt Dlamini. The suspect is said to have absconded bail and police believe he is still in Gauteng.
