100 blankets success

NORTH RIDING – Ryan Steinhobal has reached his goal of collecting 100 blankets.

Our furry friends at the Randburg SPCA will be a little warmer this winter.

Ryan Steinhobel (14), a pupil of Maragon Private Schools, has reached his goal of collecting 100 blankets for the Randburg SPCA, in North Riding. “I am really happy that I have been able to make the lives of these animals a little better,” said Steinhobel.

He collected blankets from his community, friends and family. “I have to thank my family the most as their support was what made this possible,” commented Steinhobel.

In many cases residents in the area read the story in the Randburg Sun or heard about his initiative via HOT 91.9fm. Some concerned residents donated many blankets directly to the Randburg SPCA.

“This young man has done amazing work for our animals. I am incredibly proud of his courage and perseverance,” said Randburg SPCA general manager Craig Rudman.

“It is going to be a really cold winter this year and at least the animals will have some extra warmth and comfort from these blankets,” added Steinhobel. In a display of gratitude Rudman handed Steinhobel a framed certificate of commendation from the Ranbdurg SPCA.
