New lotto operator pleads for patience

JOBURG – Ithuba Holdings Proprietary Limited has been awarded the licence to operate the National Lottery and uphold the mandate to raise money for good cause from 1 June.

Ithuba has been launched as the new South African National Lottery operator from the 1 June. The handover and transition process from the outgoing operator, Gidani, to Ithuba has caused some operational delays at local retailers.

“Ithuba is on track with its implementation and we are excited about delivering a re-invigorated lottery to the South African public. We kindly request the public and our retailers to be patient while we iron out any temporary delays during this transition,” said Charmaine Mabuza, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ithuba.

Their call centres are operational seven days a week, between 6am and 11pm, Monday to Saturday and between 6am and 6pm Sundays.

All winning tickets purchased before 30 May are redeemable from any Ithuba regional office and any retailer from 6 June 2015.
