“The leak has been reported to management, Johannesburg Water and the local councillor numerous times and it’s still leaking,” said a frustrated Klopper. She continued and said that thousands of litres of water have been wasted because of the City’s inefficiency to repair a leak.

With that said, Klopper congratulated and thanked the management for securing one of the main power-boxes next to the rugby field by adding two locks to close it properly.

According to Johannesburg Water spokesperson Millicent Kabwe no complaint has been received by the entity as no reference numbers appear to be logged on their system. Ward 102 councillor David Potter was notified and he said, according to management there is only a water leak at the baseball field. “The City’s call centre refused to log this leak and I have requested Joburg Water Operations Centre to log it for the repair to take place,” concluded Potter.
