Police have confirmed that the owner of a day-care centre owner was recently arrested on charges of rape of an 11-year-old family friend. The man has appeared in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court.
Gauteng Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Katlego Mogale said a case was opened last month at Linden Police Station. “The suspect’s first court appearance was yesterday (Wednesday, 13 May),” added Mogale. She could not give the outcome of the court appearance and said it was not yet known if the suspect was released on bail or still in custody.
