Ambassadors 4 Change needs you

WINDSOR – Non-profit organisation Ambassadors for 4 Change needs your help to empower the community of Windsor.

Ambassadors 4 Change is a non-profit organisation that seeks to bring change in Windsor and Palm Ridge through empowering the community. Their aim is to help the community become self-sustained and instil a positive attitude that will shape and prepare them for challenges that the future may hold. “It is important to help out in underprivileged communities and help uplift those communities. People need to reach out and help empower and bridge gaps between such communities,” said the organisation’s founder Gathel Moyo.

He added that the mission of the organisation is to do the following:

• Establish a rehabilitation centre for those addicted and affected by the use of substances

• Establish support groups for those affected by HIV/AIDS

• Provide protection for vulnerable and orphaned children

• Provide home and community-based care, and day care for children

• Provide training of healthcare workers and peer educators.

The organisation is in need of residents’ and external organisations’ contributions to help their Project100 and Lead100 initiatives.

Project100 is a project dedicated to collecting as many blankets, winter jackets, tracksuits and winter material as possible. With winter approaching, Ambassadors 4 Change’s aim is to keep as many children warm in the community, said Moyo. The project has plans to open a library for the community of Palm Ridge and to donate books to a day-care centre in Windsor, hence it calls for donations of books and stationery.

Lead100 is an initiative aimed at providing motivational and mentoring workshops for young adults on different subjects such as life skills, small businesses establishment and leadership. Project co-ordinator Edward Obita says that young adults need to be able to lead but also to follow at times, as doing both is an important life skill. The project needs volunteers to share some inspiration and teach at some of the workshops.
