A hot ‘Old Skool’ party

NORTH RIDING – Joburg’s hottest radio station hosted their 'Old Skool' party at Montecasino's ballroom.

HOT 91.9fm  hosted on 9 May their ‘Old Skool’ party at Montecasino, Fourways, in aid of raising funds for Randburg SPCA and to celebrate their recent success.

Station manager Lloyd Madurai said, “We hosted this party to celebrate our five months on air and our five awards from the MTN Radio awards.”

Hundreds of devoted listeners of the radio station based in North Riding gathered in the ballroom for one massive party. Some guests dressed up in their old school-themed attire such as school uniforms. The ballroom was packed to capacity with a long queue at the bar.

Guests were delighted and enthralled by the beats of Tokyo Groove. Old and young guests enjoyed the event with some saying, “I’m not used to partying like this and getting home at 2am.”

The HOT 91.9fm DJs such as Jeremy Mansfield, Sasha Martinengo, Treasure Tshabalala, Paul Almeida and many more, broadcasted live from the event, yet still enjoyed the party themselves.

Randburg SPCA donation boxes were placed at the party to raise awareness and funds – some of the proceeds from the party also going to them. General manager of Randburg SPCA Craig Rudman said, “We are so thankful for all the support and awareness HOT 91.9fm brings the SPCA.”
