Windsor residents should support sports field petition

WINDSOR WEST – Ward 98 councillor urges community to support leisure sporting facilities petition.

Ward 98 councillor Laurette van Zijl said the community of Windsor West and East is busy with a petition for the establishment of leisure sporting facilities.

She said, “We are calling on the authorities to establish a fenced mini soccer field and baseball facility in the Knights Avenue Park and to establish an outdoor gym in the park on Princess Avenue in Windsor West.”

Van Zijl added that they will also focus on improving the children’s play equipment in both of these parks.

“According to Alton Rankin who is the Regional City Parks manager our request needs to be supported by a petition. So I have set up a petition that residents can sign electronically.”

Residents can click here to sign the petition.

“I urge residents in Windsor and the surrounding communities to support this petition as it will benefit everyone in the surrounding areas,” concluded van Zijl.
