RRVA WhatsApp

RANDPARK RIDGE – The Randpark Ridge Village Association says their WhatsApp group helps disseminate information more efficiently.

Residents of Randpark Ridge are invited to join the fast-growing residents’ association. Randpark Ridge Village Association (RRVA) has created a smart and efficient method to keep their community updated and informed.

RRVA members will be a part of a network which will ensure, according to RRVA member Linsey Lester, “Direct access to contact the Best Secure armed response patrol vehicle (24/7); tactical back-up response teams from Community Support Services (which are also connected via radio to Best Secure), and if needed, the Paramedic Medical Response (ER24) will be alerted by Community Support Services.”

The association has also created a WhatsApp network per street. The groups enable neighbours the chance to interact with those around them. Lester also said, “We have had great feedback from the groups. The neighbours are getting to know each other. The one street is even having a ‘street braai’ which is almost unheard of these days.” She further added, “It is meant to be used to get people together to communicate in order to get more information.”

The membership to the association is R300 a month. In regards to the WhatsApp groups, residents do not have to be a part of the RRVA in order to join.

“The more members we have, the more we can do for the suburb. I feel that there would be greater benefit to the WhatsApp group as a whole if the ‘admins’ are RRVA members as then they have access to the central ER WhatsApp group,” Lester concluded. Join their Facebook group (Randpark Ridge Village Association) for more information on how to join.
