Residents not interested in CPF meetings

HONEYDEW – Honeydew Cluster relations officer urges community to attend next CPF meeting on 5 May.

The Honeydew Sector 2 CPF meeting usually takes place on the first Tuesday of the month, and this month, for the first time, only 14 people attended the meeting.

Honeydew Cluster public relations officer Jon Rosenberg said, “Its been held on the first Tuesday every month for years and it seems like residents have lost interest in their CPF.”

Rosenberg added that a couple of police officers were on leave and that also affected the number of people that were present in the meeting.

“The meeting had to be cut short and we discussed a fraction of the topics we usually discuss at these meetings.”

Ward 126 councillor Mike Tonkin also expressed his frustration with the low attendance. “If residents want to stay informed about what’s going on in and around their suburbs then they need to attend these meetings.”

Rosenberg concluded and said, “The next meeting will take place on Tuesday 5 May in the boardroom at Honeydew Police and everyone is welcome to attend.”
