Saints Basketball wins 6 out of 8 games

RANDBURG - Basketball Captain says his team played well during the Easter Festival.

The Saint Stithians Basketball team got off to a bad start of their Easter Festival tournament as they lost to the opening game to Royal Bafokeng with a difference of two points with the total score that turned out to be 47 – 45.

The second game was in the favour of the Saints as the team won the game with 12 points. Team Captain Kyler Mintah said he was impressed with his team’s performance. “The boys played hard from the start against a very intimidating team from Zimbabwe.”

He continued and explained that his team won the next three games by thrashing three teams from Soweto, Durban and Wynberg by a large margin of points.

“After those games we beat Jeppe High School by 11 points,” continued Mintah.

The Saints lost their second last match against Peterhouse by a margin of six points on 6 April.

However all was not lost as the boys redeemed themselves when they won against Heideveld High School with a score of 58 – 41.

“I want to thank each and every player for all the effort during each match,” concluded Mintah.
