Dead body of a woman has been found in Kya Sand
KYA SAND - After a car chase through Douglasdale police discovered a dead body in the back of a Nissan bakkie.
A dead body of a woman in her 40s was found at the back of a Nissan bakkie 1400 at around 1pm on 22 March in Kya Sand.
“RSS,security company was patrolling in Douglasdale when they noticed a white Nissan bakkie parked in an open area.They ( RSS security ) then saw two men, one man had a spade in his hand. The man with the spade then fled on foot while the other suspect got into the bakkie and drove off. RSS security then gave chase and alerted the police,” said police spokesperson Lieutenant Kay Makhubela.
According to Douglasdale SAPS spokesperson Warrant officer Balan Muthan, the suspect driving the bakkie was a 57-year-old male.
“The suspect was stopped in Kya Sand and arrested by police,” said Muthan.
Muthan added the cause of death is still unknown.
