Taxi and car collision in Kya Sand

KYA SAND – Three people were critically injured after a taxi collided with a car while facing oncoming traffic on 18 March.

Three people sustained moderate to critical injuries and at least six others sustained minor to moderate injuries when a taxi and car collided at the corner of Malibongwe Drive and Capital Street in Randburg early in the evening on 18 March.

It is understood that the taxi rolled several times and landed on its wheels.

According to ER24′ s statement, paramedics and other services arrived on scene and found the taxi on Malibongwe Drive just past the intersection going toward Kya Sands.

It is alleged that the taxi was facing oncoming traffic.

“Patients were scattered on the right of the taxi and seated and lying on the pavement. The patients were assessed and treated. They were transported to hospital for further treatment,” reads ER24’s statement

The exact cause of the collision is unknown, however, authorities were on scene for further investigations.
