We would like to thank all those wonderful people that streamed down our driveway, offering their support, sympathy, help, donations,clothing, sheets, towels, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap and other household and personal items.

We feel very humbled from this experience.

We would like to thank the following people:

We have had support from Father Johathan and our parish, St John’s Catholic Church, Northriding, St John’s Care Group;

The residents of Sanet Street, our neighbours, residents from across CR Swart Drive, in Thrush Avenue (assisting with a computer cable and a much needed torch);

Bush Hill, Kings School in Fontainbleau, the staff at Par-Avion, the Methodist Church in the North Riding area;

Isaac of Trojan Security, Northwold Spar;

The gentleman who came down the driveway, telling us about ‘Pay it Forward’;

The caregivers and children from Mother of Peace Home in NorthRiding;

Friends of Golden Harvest, strangers, those kind people whose names I have forgotten;

Old school friends, and not to mention our wonderful friends and family.

We want to express our deepest gratitude to all and everyone.

A thousand thank yous would not be enough.

Our message – avoid candles, keep the fire brigade number and your local security control on your cellphone, discuss a fire drill

with your neighbours, never think it can’t happen to you.

I cannot even put into words, the warmth, support we received, the wonderful kindness,

and fantastic people that we have here in this part of the planet!
