Donations for Build the Future Container Pre-school

KYA SAND – Build the Future receives lockers after burglary.

After Build The Future Container Pre-school was broken into and food donations, toys and cooking pots were stolen in January, vehicle tracking company Cartrack assisted with donations.

“Cartrack donated lockers to our pre-schoolers. Not only will it aid our teachers in keeping track of whose things belong to whom, but it also gears our little ones toward ‘big school’, giving them a sense of security, ownership and prestige,” said founder of Build the Future Phillip Shapiro.

The Cartrack team also donated sanitary products such as toilet roll holders, paper towel dispensers and toilets that will be used in the construction of bathroom facilities at the pre-school.

“Every child needs the stability of a prescribed place for themselves and their things. Their progress this year is going to be phenomenal with all the fabulous donations we have received,” added Shapiro.

Build the Future Container Pre-school is a non-profit organisation located just outside Kya Sand Informal Settlement that has been in operation for about nine years.

The organisation is currently involved in a pre-school and combined feeding scheme in Kya Sand, in addition to an after-school feeding scheme in Motsoaledi, Soweto.
