Baken Akademie cleans up Golden Harvest Park

School children get schooled about the impact of litter in our environment at the Golden Harvest Park with Baken Akadamie.

The school took all the pupils to a short outing at the Golden Harvest Park which has an entrance right by Baken Akadamie.

Principal Martin Gericke commented, ”It is great to see all the children so excited and enthusiastic to clean the litter up around the dam. It is important to instill a sense of how to keep our environment clean.”

Some of the pupils competed among themselves about who could collect the most rubbish that they could find.

The whole park is about 55 acres, so there was lots of space for litter to collate, especially, during the rainy seasons.

”We are constantly trying to involve the community in keeping our park clean and safe; frequent visits like these create a good awareness of how beautiful our community can be,” said marketing director Jurie Groenewald.
