Santana has been a Ward councillor for 22 months.
His list of wards include Fourways west of William Nicol Drive, Epsom Downs, Norscot, Norscot Slopes, Douglasdale, Jukskei Park, Johannesburg
North, Noordhang, Hoogland, Northriding and parts of Olivedale.
“I enjoy being a Ward councillor, it is exciting and rewarding on the one hand and often frustrating and thankless on the other,” commented Santana.
Being a Ward councillor is a tough job.
Santana is currently facing challenges relevant to the lack of enforcement of bylaws and traffic law by the relevant officials and residents.
Also the increase in traffic congestion, lack of service delivery in maintaining parks, greenbelt areas, cutting of grass on road verges and sidewalks.
Top of the list for 2015 is to get Council to implement a combined SAPS-JMPD law enforcement unit in line with the joint campaign being
driven by Douglasdale SAPS and CPF, JMPD and Fourways Precinct councillors.
The unit will focus on traffic and bylaw infringements.
