Life through the eyes of Alzheimer’s suffer

JOHANNESBURG - 'Still Alice', premiers in South African cinemas today [13 February].

Julianne Moore has received an outstanding approval from international film critics, based on her role in Still Alice.

Still Alice, premiers in the South African cinemas on 13 February.

The movie is based on the life struggles of an Alzheimer’s sufferer, played by Moore.

The film, which won both the Golden Globe and SAG Awards for best actress [Julianne Moore], is now the front runner for the Best Actress Academy Award.

Moore plays Alice Howland who is a happily married and renowned linguistics professor with three adult children.

When she starts to forget words, she goes to a doctor and is told that she has Alzheimer’s disease.

Alice and her family find their bonds tested.

Moore stars along Kristen Stewart, Alec Baldwin and Kate Bosworth.

“We’re excited to bring this stellar film to South African cinemas and have high hopes for this year’s Academy Award will go to Julianne Moore,” said Ryan Haidarian of Forefront Media Group.
