Counterfeiter’s bail denied

RANDBURG – Bail is denied for counterfeiting accused Iegwin Deacon.

Accused Iegwin Deacon and Storm Brits appeared in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court on 2 February in connection with the case of

counterfeit money ,see previous story.

Iegwin Deacon’s attorney Ian Allise presented a formal bail application before the court.

Deacon is facing multiple counts of counterfeit money, fraud, possession of stolen goods and reckless driving.

The state opposed bail, arguing that Deacon poses a flight risk as well as a threat to society.

Magistrate Salome le Roux denied Deacon’s bail application.

The grounds were as follows:

Storm Brits’ bail application is still pending.

Brits can still apply for bail during the postponement date, which is 27 March.
