Randpark club kicks-off with an adventure
RANDPARK – Kinetic Gear and Petzl present the Adventure Races at the Rand Park golf club.
The Petzl Night sponsored the Adventure with Kinetic Gear, which brought mudslinging, heart-pumping and energy-filled enthusiasts to
the Rand Park Golf Course on 28 January for a fun-filled race.
This race is held at the Rand Park Golf Course three times a year.
This particular event attracted between 250 to 300 people to experience an adrenalin-packed race.
It consisted of a 7km course of a night kayak, net crawls, balance bridge, obstacles and a memory task.
Greg Greubel, sales manager at Petzl South Africa said, ”It has been a great turnout this evening.”
Teams were male singles, female singles, male pairs, female pairs and mixed couples.
Organiser and co-owner of Kinetic Gear Heidi Muller commented, ”I think it is a safe venue and environment to mix up your daily training routine. It is a fun way to have a great experience and end with a social gathering.”
Stephan Muller, co-owner of Kinetic Gears said, ”It is always lots of fun every time we host an event. The kayak race is always a sight to see with 200 odd people trying to navigate a dam in the dark.”
Members of the teams commented at how much fun they all had.
One stated, ”It was very tough but I would do it all over again and again, bring the next one on.”

Male single: Wesley Schourie
Female pair: Elice van Jurk and Rhia van der Meulen
Male pair: Matthew Slabbert and Paul Greyling
Mixed pair: Rudolph and Jenna Storm.
