Baken Akadamie opens its doors

NORTHWOLD – Baken Akadamie welcomes their new pupils to a bright and brand spanking new school.

Rain brought through a group of happy pupils on the first day of the new Afrikaans school, Baken Akadamie on 14 January.

Pricipal Martin Gericke said, “We are starting off small with only 21 children in the school. We want to create a brand that prides itself on educational excellence. Baken Akadamie is small but all great things starts off small and grow with time. This was a great accomplishment.”

The school has stunning classrooms, most fitted with the state-of-the-art smart boards.

These allow for a wide variety of interactivity with teaching and learning on multimedia platforms.

Gericke adds, “The school will focus on mainstream academics in a specialised (IEB and Caps) programme, emphasising science, technology, engineering and maths. The programme calls students from all sorts of backgrounds and area.”

The classes are Grade 00, Grade 1, 3, 5 and 8.

Each class has only a few pupils which allows for a much more comprehensive and sustainable standard when it comes to educational growth.

The school is located in Northwold at the Randburg Gereformeerde Kerk on 3rd Road.
