14 January 2015 is no doubt a red-letter day in the young life of Tiago Quintal (7) of Helderkruin.
According to Martha Schüngel – sub editor for Caxton Johannesburg North-West and Tiago’s grandmother – this day marks four special events. “It is the first school day of the year; it is Tiago’s first day at his new school – CURRO Krugersdorp Private School in Rangeview ; it is his first day in Grade 1 and most special of all: it is also Tiago’s (happy) seventh birthday!”
In addition, his sister Tanika (5) also starts her first day in Grade R at CURRO.
Mom Tharia said the children were up at 5.30am and more than excited and ready to start the day. With a touch of nostalgia she added, “It seems like only yesterday when they were still so small and today they start school and are all of a sudden part of the ‘big world’ out there.”
