Rand Park High matriculants are tops

RAND PARK RIDGE – A 100 per cent pass rate for the 2014 Matrics of Rand Park High School.

Matriculants celebrated their results for 2014 at Rand Park High School in Randpark Ridge on 6 January.

Deputy principal G Schütte congratulated all 275 pupils who passed their final examinations.

The school’s top achiever is Claire Wiggan (19) who received a whopping eight distinctions out of her eight subjects which included add maths from the IEB syllabus.

Wiggan will now be studying medicine at the University of Pretoria (Tuks). ”I am really relieved to finally receive my marks. It’s been a stressful wait to see what I got. While it is sad to be leaving school, I’m also really happy to be continuing with my future,” said Wiggan.

Sailen Nair (18) is another top performing matriculant who received six distinctions. Nair will study electrical engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand.

He commented, ”I always wanted to study engineering and Wits is rated as one of the top universities in the country. It’s satisfying to finally reach the end, my family are all very happy for me.”

The other top performing matriculants are Teneale Eilenberg with 7 distinctions. Kezia Bolton, Sanusha Govender, Jesse Montano, Samkele Myeni and Lauren van Vuuren 6 distinctions each.

Deputy Prinicpal, Gaye Schütte, congratulated all of the matrics that received their results.

Other family members that accompanied their matriculants were full of joy, to the extent, that one could not tell who was happier, the family or the matriculants.
