The area reverberated with songs and dances as the famous Grammy Award-winning Soweto Gospel Choir gave voice to the occasion and moved everybody as they sang the South African National anthem and Rolene’s favourite song, You Raise Me Up.

Douglas addressed the crowd: “You gave us Miss South Africa and we are bringing home Miss World.”
He assured South Africans that Strauss won’t be lost to South Africa but will be doing meaningful work here during her reign.

Strauss will be based in London, and therefore Ziphozakhe Zokufa, 1st Princess to Strauss, was crowned Miss South Africa 2014 on 17 December.

Zokufa (23) will represent the country at the upcoming Miss Universe Pageant which will take place in Miami, Florida  in January 2015.
Rolene told the crowd she was proud to be crowned Miss World.

She added that she will continue with her passion for making a difference and contribute through her charity work, which will take her to different countries around the world.
A Cape Town schoolgirl Xabiso Mlumbi (11), to whom Rolene donated a wheelchair through one of her charities, also came to welcome the newly crowned Miss World.

It was certainly an epic home-coming to remember!
