Xanopia Women’s Business Group distributed rewashable sanitary pads and vegetable packs to Zandspruit Primary School on 5 December in honour of Madiba’s legacy.
Xanopia has adopted Zandspruit Primary and three other schools in Cosmo City to launch the Girlstuff project.
The girls received a pack of Girlstuff rewashable pads and they also received a health and life coaching session from the Xanopia team.
Life coach Khalid Jasset gave a very practical, yet, entertaining life lesson to all the pupils in attendance.
The older girls were later taught about their health, hygiene and got instructions on how to use and care for the rewashable pads.
“It was a very humbling experience and we as Xanopia are very pleased that we could make a difference in these girl’s lives. This is a critical stage in their lives and
they need all the support and encouragement they can get. Now they don’t have to stay out of school when they are on their periods,” said Yandisa Sokhanyile, Chief Marketing Officer for Xanopia.
