Be safe at Banbury this Christmas

NORTH RIDING – Car jammers are causing a problem at Banbury Cross Village.

Banbury Cross Village’s security warns residents that the busyness of the festive season makes it hard for them to be at all places at once. Thus residents should also protect themselves from being targeted for crime. AZ Mabutho, which has helped reduce crime at the shopping centre in North Riding since it took over of security two months ago [see previous article ], recently changed its name to Xplore Nation. It also partnered with Asikhulume Security to keep the centre safe.

Victor Siwela, owner of both companies, said that the centre currently has a problem with car jammers. “I encourage the car owners to physically check that their cars are locked after pressing the remote,” he said. He added that when using the ATM, residents should not ask for help from anyone they do not know, except from a security guard in uniform.
