Woman was hit by a taxi on Northumberland Road

NORTH RIDING – Taxi skips red light and knocks woman down.

A woman in her 30s is in hospital after being hit by a taxi on 19 November on Northumberland Road.

The woman was trying to cross from Northumberland Road onto Christiaan De Wet when a taxi allegedly skipped a red traffic light.

Vitalmed paramedics, Shanelle Gordon, Breval Alexander and Ganine Alexander were on the scene.

According to Gordon, the taxi was coming from the Honeydew side toward Randpark Rige, when the accident occured.

The taxi driver stopped at the scene.

The fire department and law enforcement officials were also on scene.

The woman was transported to hospital, with a fractured right wrist and fractured left ankle, according to Vitalmed paramedics.
