To the delight of the local residents, Armand arrived with a generous donation of vegetable and herb seedlings.

Ansie Hibberd of the Rotary Club of Northcliff was most grateful that Armand made time in his busy schedule to visit this vegetable garden.

“We partnered with Emthonjeni earlier this year to start this much-needed food garden. With the help of 20 unemployed women of the Zandspruit community a patch of weeds were turned into a sustainable project which contributes greatly to put food on their tables,” Hibberd said.

“Donations of this kind make all the difference. After the last storm in the area, this precious garden lost some lustre but with Armand’s gift this garden will soon recover its former glory. He is smart with a big heart!”

Du Plessis, resident of Ruimsig and post-graduate law student, was touched by the warm welcome he received from the community and believes that as a future lawyer, he will be able to play a role in improving the quality of life for all citizens in our country.
