Vuleka School celebrates 25 years

NORTH RIDING – The Vuleka School hosts its Founders Day with an event filled of lots of fun activities and fundraising for the children.

The Vuleka School in North Riding celebrated 25 years of success by hosting a fun day on 25 October.

Managing director Melanie Sharland commented, ”We are celebrating the skills of our gifted children by having a church service and a day full of lots of fun.”

There were many stalls with products, all donated. Different stations were set up to entertain the children such as a nail pamper bar, face painting, water slides and a jewellery-making station. The proceeds of the event went to the Support-a-Child project.

They had great success by raising a whooping R2 400 per child,”

The Vuleka School as a whole educated over 1 000 children with three primary schools, three learning centres and a centre for assisted learning.

One in five children at Vuleka are either orphans or a vulnerable child (OVC). By having initiatives among many for instance, Support-a-Child they have been able to ensure that high quality education remains as cost effective as possible.
