LINDEN – A planned electricity outage is expected to hit large parts of Johannesburg on 30 October.

A planned electricity outage is expected to hit large parts of Johannesburg on 30 October.

City power has confirmed that there will be power interruption from 10pm until 4am. According to senior communication officer Sydney Mphahlele, “This is a planned outage whereby maintenance is done on electrical apparatus.”

The Neighbourhood Watchers from affected areas will be on the road at that time to increase additional patrols for safety.

Linden Neighbourhood Watch’s Fareed Hoosen informed that they will ensure safety for residents during the power outage.

“We are arranging to get together with ADT, the police and the Combat Service Support (CSS) tactical team to do extra visibility during that time,” said Hoosen.

“We will be on full force in our areas to prevent crime,”he concluded.
