A fire broke out next to the Randburg taxi rank in the CBD in the afternoon of 23 October.
A major cleanup operation was occurring between the Randburg Community Policing Forum, Johannesburg Social Housing company (Joshco) and the Randburg Management Services.
No one knows how the fire started.
The fire slowly spread until Randburg Fire Station and Hunter’s Hill Fire Station each sent a fire engine and crew to the scene.
Working together, they put the main fire out, as well as small pockets of fire around the premises.
No one was hurt.
Aerosol cans were loudly exploding, and a huge cloud of smoke was visible from neighbouring suburbs.
