Monash provides sponsorship for school quiz winners

RANDBURG— National School Quiz championships put education first with the official premier on channel 319

The founders of the National School Quiz Championships (NSQC) gathered at the Mindset TV Channel offices in Randburg for the premier of NSCQ on 15 October.

The conference room was transformed for an intimate setting for a presentation to an audience that included representatives from Monash University. The presentation focused on NSQC’s journey during the year, where more than 50 schools participated in the gruelling three- round competition to book a spot in the finals in December.

Monash University will provide university sponsorships to the winning team to keep in light with the competition’s vision of providing academic excellence for the future pupils. The quiz championships will broadcast every weeknight on channel 319, showcasing the talent among South African schools and the one that stood out to ultimately compete in the preliminary finals on 26 August.

Randpark Ridge High and Trinityhouse booked their spot in the finals during the prelims in August and are gearing up for the finals.

The school battled against Monument High, Shangri-La Academy and Springs Girls High during three rounds of questions by the quizmaster.

Ian P Venganai – creator of the NSQC brand, said it is imperative to create sustainable efforts that invest in the education of tomorrow’s leaders. “This began as nothing more than just a dream three years ago but we remained persistent because we truly believe in providing the best tools for our future. With education we can really change the world and it is up to us to instil the love of learning in today’s pupils.”

CEO of Mindset Tv, Roith Rajapl added, “It has been so great to witness the passion and determination that the creators of this project had. The fruits of your labour are becoming very evident and I look forward to what you guys will do in the future.”
