Damelin students wash cars for Pink Drive

Washing cars to raise funds for Pink Drive at Damelin Randburg

Damelin Randburg campus hosted an event for Pink Drive in aid of breast cancer awareness on 9 October.

The students joined together to create this event where people were encouraged to bring their cars to the campus and have them washed for R20.

Student representative Aleks Buloviv explains, ”Our aim is to not only raise awareness for breast cancer but to gather funds that will be donated to the Pink Drive initiative and people can have clean cars, so it helps everyone.”

”This is a fantastic idea, to get the youth involved, if it hasn’t affected them now, it may in their later lives,” says General Manager of Damelin Randburg, David Naidoo.

All of the proceeds that are collected from the car wash and hot dog sale will be donated to the Pink Drive.

Nolitha Madai, CSI co-coordinator remarks, ”I am really excited to see the campus and students getting involved in such a great cause. [Damelin Randburg] will be running further campaigns for the month of October.”
