Linden Police salutes a hero

LINDEN – Des Peel receives honorary award for exceptional service.

A giant among men has retired after being a police reservist for 26 years, much to the dismay of Linden and Randburg police stations.

Captain Des Peel was honoured at an official ceremony by both stations recently, where top brass paid their respects to his dedication to fighting crime and keeping the residents in his areas safe and secure since 1988.

“He worked tirelessly to help our stations wherever he could,” remembers Captain Alex Vermaak from Linden Police Station. “He was an impeccable reservist and a model citizen, his presence at the station will be sorely missed.”

The best reservists from Linden and Randburg police stations were also named at the ceremony, namely Constable George Kochukov and Constable Phil Engelbrecht. Constables Ryan Slater and Jean Kuebler were also commended for the many hours they have put into service at the stations.
