Childhood cancer awareness breakfast

KENSINGTON - October is Cancer awareness month, see how the Princesa Bakery showed its support.

Princesa Bakery in Kensington was a sea of yellow as the Manny de Freitas Foundation (MdFF) hosted their Childhood Cancer Awareness Breakfast this weekend.

Over 40 ladies that supported this initiative ensured that this opportunity was used to bring awareness to the fact that cancer can touch anyone, irrespective of age.

In keeping with the theme of the breakfast, a child star, Spanish dancer Gina Gomes entertained everyone present with her professional and captivating dancing. CEO of the MdFF, Jeanette de Freitas said that she couldn’t express her gratitude enough for the other two special guests present, namely Teniqua Fonseca, Miss Republica Portuguesa Africa do Sul (Miss Portuguese Republic South Africa) and Leanne Borrageiro, first princess of Miss Republica Portuguesa Africa do Sul.

“I am indebted to Paula Ferreira from the Princesa Bakery for the awesome preparation and work she put into the success of this event; thank you Princesa Bakery,” said Jeanette de Freitas. She explained that a special moment was when Mariazinha Gonçalves made a special tribute to her son who had lost the battle against cancer. ”The impact of cancer on our lives can never be underestimated and that is why we at the MdFF do what we do so that we can contribute to reducing the incidence of cancer.”
