Road rage suspect back in court

ROODEPOORT – Meekahefele Masooa will appear at Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court again for the Douglas Pearce murder trial on 30 September.

The case against Meekahefele Masooa, who is accused of fatally shooting Randburg motorcyclist Douglas Pearce in a road rage altercation on 14 February, will continue at Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court today.

The case was postponed to 30 September after Masooa’s request to have the charges withdrawn against him was refused by Magistrate Denise Smith in August.

This was the fourth time the case has been postponed and the question on everyone’s lips prevail: Will justice finally be served for the Pearce family?

The incident was, however, not isolated and another road rage case is currently ongoing in Randburg Magistrates’ Court involving the passenger of a Porsche who was filmed while attacking another motorist on Witkoppen Road in July.
